The 5 Summer Shoe Styles I’m Loving Right Now
Summer shoes are an entity that I take very seriously. From sneakers to sandals, I own entirely too many pairs and not enough at the same time. However, the styles of shoe on the list are my intentional tried and true; these are the shoes that I believe elevate even the most carefully curated of outfits without completely breaking the bank.
After wearing all five of these styles through everything from campus days to cobblestone streets in Italy, I can vouch for them unreservedly. In fact, along with these styles I’ve included my personal favorites of each, as well as how I would (or already) have them styled. Consider this your definitive summer shoe edit, curated with love and over walked feet.

Raffia Kitten Heel Sandals
Starting off strong, tan raffia sandals, especially low heeled, are the ultimate summer must-have because they always effortlessly bridge the gap between casual warmth and chic sophistication. They are the perfect warm, summer neutral that can be dressed up or down. I wore the LifeStride Nori Sandal in Tan Raffia all throughout the cobblestone streets of Venice and came home with zero blisters and a lot of compliments, which is a complete win in my book.

Style these with any floral dress or white bootcut jean for a dressed up yet approachable vibe.
Recommendation: LifeStride Nori Natural Tan Raffia Sandal — $47.99 (was $79.99) on Amazon

Slim Square Flip Flop Sandals
Flip flops are a staple in everyone’s closet, but they’re in now more than ever this summer. Pair these versatile shoes with or without swimwear for an undone but intentional look.
As for my recommendation, I had to choose a style we all know and love. Coral is the color of the season, and havaianas are back… but did either really ever go out? The square toe of these thong sandals makes them feel current while the slim strap keeps them sleek, cultivating in the most elevated version of the well loved flip flop.
Picture these rosy sandals with your favorite pair of denim shorts and a white bikini on the beach. A classic.
Recommendation: Havaianas Women’s Slim Square Solid Flip Flops in Crocus Rose — $34.00 on Amazon

Espadrille Heel Wedges
Espadrille lace up wedges are yet another style of shoe that I am so excited to have in my rotation. The espadrille, originating from Spain, has been a summer staple, well, centuries, and the modern espadrille we know and love is back with the 70s wedge. Another example of a dress up or down shoe, the lace up heels especially are so incredibly versatile.
An honest note: I wore this specific pair to a winery in Tuscany, and, while perfect for the occasion and absolutely stunning, I might recommend skipping the long walks if planning on wearing. Still, I recommend these reasonably priced shoes to anyone looking to make an elevated, subtle statement.
Style these with any colored maxi dress for a finishing, elegant touch.
Recommendation: Soludos Marseille Platform Wedge Espadrilles — $108.40 on Amazon

Ivory Detailed Sneakers
Ivory is the summer neutral, and a good pair of sneakers can take you far. Ivory sneakers specifically are having their moment, and rightfully so. They go with everything, photograph beautifully, and keep things feeling fresh and modern without trying too hard.
My personal favorite is the Dolce Vita B.Ntcd Woven Mesh Sneaker. I brought these as my main walking shoe in Florence and had zero complaints, even after full days of exploring. These are extremely comfortable for longer distances, and the mesh detail makes them feel more special than a basic white sneaker.
If you want something a little more budget-friendly, the Dolce Vita Notice Lace Sneaker is also a great pick — very on-trend and amazon has them on a significant discount from retail.

Pair with denim bottoms to compliment the lace detailing.
Recommendation: Dolce Vita Notice Lace Sneaker in Ivory — $62.38 on Amazon

Try choosing summer browns to make the tan suede against the mesh pop.
Recommendation: Dolce Vita B.Ntcd Sneaker in White Woven Mesh — $90.00 on Amazon

Lace Ballet Flats
Finishing off once more with the lace, which has steadily become one of my favorite trends of this summer, are new in floral ballet flats. Ballet flats have been such a versatile shoe these past two or so years, and they are staying in my rotation this summer. The pair I’m specifically reaching for has a gorgeous mesh design featuring both ivory and lace, which we know this season are big.

Style these with a silk or satin bias-cut mini skirt in a cool or neutral tone for a polished look.
Recommendation: Vivaia Women’s Margot Mary Jane Square-Toe Ballet Flats in Cream Floral Mesh — $149 on Amazon
At the end of the day, the best summer shoe is the one you actually reach for — the one that makes getting dressed feel easy instead of stressful. These five are mine right now, and I think at least one of them is about to be yours too. Shop through my links for ease and with love <3
